Romans 8:37-39

We are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

It’s very easy to feel separated from God in our secular culture. It’s also very easy to feel separated from God’s love because of our mistakes. I often feel like my actions determine how close or far I am from God’s love. But this is not the case. Yes, my actions can make my heart calloused or apathetic towards God’s love, but His love is always there. It is my own misdirected thoughts, not the absence of His love, that keep me from Him.
